Kevin grew up near Columbus, 俄亥俄州, and upon graduating from high school, he headed south to Nashville, Tennessee to study music business at Belmont University. 在大学里, Kevin found his work as a new-student orientation leader at Belmont more meaningful and fun than the hours spent catering to the needs of spoiled musicians, so he moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to begin studying for a master’s in college counseling and student development at Azusa Pacific University.
While in California, his passion for working with college students (and his passion for great Mexican food) was ignited. During his time in California, he worked in the Discipleship 办公室 at Azusa Pacific University, serving as both a spiritual mentor and small-group leader to a number of students. During graduate school, he also spent one year as a graduate hall coordinator at Occidental College. Upon graduating with his master’s degree, he moved to New Hampshire to serve as a residence hall manager at the University of New Hampshire for two years.
